I’m moving to Melbourne on Wednesday.

I’ve wanted to move abroad for a few years; my desire to move to Australia began when I went to Sydney for my brother’s wedding in 2012. The seed was fully planted then and has grown ever since.

2014 has been…a tumultuous and difficult year so far. I won’t get into the details, but the crux of the matter is that I am unhappy, and I am unhappy with my life in London. I couldn’t keep ignoring the signs, so in May I quit my job, moved out of my flat and back in with my parents and began planning my move abroad.

I’m frankly quite petrified: I don’t know a soul in Melbourne, and I don’t really have a plan. I know the things that I want to experience: I want to take a raw cooking class, I want to travel around Australia (Uluru and the 12 Apostles are on my hit list) and I want to work in the health and fitness industry. I’ve decided to have a leap of faith and go for it, because I believe that being happy and content depends a lot on how healthy you are, and I deserve to be happy. For me, health encompasses physical and mental health, and sometimes difficult choices need to be made to feed your soul.

I’ve done my research on all things health and wellness in Melbourne (obviously). Here are a few things I’m looking forward to doing in Melbourne!

Eating delicious cuisine at The Vegie Bar & Lentil As Anything (Melbourne apparently has a booming raw food/vegan/vegetarian food scene!)

Things may be a bit quiet for the next week or so while I’m travelling to Melbourne and recovering from jet lag, but please don’t forget about Edible Tems! I have a pipeline of recipes I need to share (like a delicious chocolate shake and coconut-vanilla cashew butter!!)…and of course I need to share all the amazing food and fitness things there are to do in Melbourne.

Although I’m scared, I’m also pretty excited! If there are any places I must visit/eat at, or if you live in Melbourne and want a new friend…you know what to do :).
